Forgotten Australians Apology & Stolen Generations Apology

The National Apology

"Sorry, to the Forgotten Children" may expose the frailties of the many affected, at long last it is finally being addressed by the govt as was the "Stolen Generations". How this Government was able to seperate the two or three groups is beyond many of us.

The Stolen Generation, Child Migrants and the non-indigenous (who have not to this day been given a title but rather thrown in as the Forgotten Australians) all went through the same hardships as one another there was no difference, our minders did not care whether we were a Child Migrant, Stolen Generation or non-indigenous we were still treated brutally, raped and sodomised at times.

A time for healing is yet to happen, when compensation is met and a better quality of life, our dignity restored along with the respect we deserve then and only then, might be the time for healing.

For those to say "it is not upto our current govt for compensation, it is up to the likes of the Salvation Army etc to recompense the mistreated & abused children of the past. All governments carry on from their predecessors along with that comes all the good things that may have been responsible for and all the damage they had done to so many.

Government, Religion and the many charitable organisations have a lot to answer for.

THEY WERE CHILDREN

Forgotten Australians, Orphanages, institutions, bastards, Royal Commission, orphans, careleavers, wardies, wards of the state, homeless, abuse, child abuse, foundling homes, forgotten, anxiety, stress, institutionalised, senate enquiry, Parliamentary Report, burdekin report, heiner enquiry, failed marriages, relationships, divorces, pasts, infiltrate, divorce, cole enquiry, cole inquiry, Parliamentary reports, child migrants, stolen generation, mental health

Forgotten Australians will always care for children, however it will never stop to seek justice for the damage that was done to so many of them as children.

We seek justice for the past, which would include a Royal Commission. This is where all the answers are into child abuse.

Forgotten Australians Apology & Stolen Generations Apology

"For all Australians who have been subjected to the austerities of institutional care, today should be a day of healing. But for those of us who are making this apology, I fear there are no grounds for self-congratulation, because there are as many children in care as ever.

Today, thankfully, little of it is institutionalised care, but that does not mean that every child’s needs are being fully met. We cannot be confident, for all our good intentions and for all our deeper understanding, that future generations, with their insights, will not be as critical of us as we now are of our forebears..."
