W.A. LAUNCH OF THE "FORGOTTEN AUSTRALIANS" COMMEMORATIVE MEMORIAL The Department for Child Protection is launching the "Forgotten Australians" Memorial in James Street (Perth Cultural Centre) on the grassed area in front of the Jubilee Building of the Western Australian Museum, adjacent to Beaufort Street"in the Northbridge Precinct on the * 10th December 2010. This memorial is for all Western Australians who experienced institutional or out-of-home care as children. Many Western Australians spent some of their childhood or adolescence in some form of out-of-home care during the twentieth century. This memorial is in their honour, and to celebrate the contribution they now make to our society. The function will commence at 9.45am for a 10.00am start.
