CLAN's response to the FAVAG letter...
”Before a RC can be lobbied for we need to focus on achieving state based enquiries first. NSW & Vic are yet to launch an enquiry into FA's time in care.
This should be the first priority in order to lay the foundation for further enquiries or a RC in the future.”
Of course not affording our organisation (FAVAG) with a reply, we have only one course via the web, hopefully others will post this on other websites and we will get a response from those Forgotten Australians who think we should have inquiries first before a Royal Commission.
To Date let’s talk of those inquiries the Mulligan report what did it cover “Sexual Abuse,” nothing was mentioned about those who were abused physically and mentally, now what came out of that how many people were prosecuted and charged how many were compensated how many got closure.
Then there was the “Lost Innocent “ inquiry once again the same questions, how many people were prosecuted and charged how many were compensated how many got closure.
The Forgotten Australians inquiry again the same questions, how many people were prosecuted and charged how many were compensated how many got closure.
Bringing them Home once again the same questions, how many people were prosecuted and charged how many were compensated how many got closure.
The Foorde Inquiry again the same questions, how many people were prosecuted and charged how many were compensated how many got closure.
And they say FA's don’t need a Royal Commission, more people have been imprisoned and justice has been seen to be dished out through Royal Commissions, c’mon get your heads out of the sand and smell the roses FA's know what they want.
To date we HAVE 162 signatures, no doubt if Clan were to give the green light to all of its members this number would sore, don’t stop the Forgotten Australian from getting what they deserve a Royal Commission no less than.
On the 16th of November Forgotten Australians marched on Canberra along with the Stolen Generation and we marched on that day for a Royal Commission one would hope we will be doing the same come the 2nd anniversary of our apology.
